The user provides a photo of their pet, we create a new version of that photo with some artistic features and add a digital certificate embedded into the code of the photo.
The technology behind is the same as being used for cryptocurrencies. Blockchain.
The major difference is cryptocurrencies (like bitcoin) are fungible tokens. This means they are similar to the money you own in the bank. All what matters is the balance. NFT which is behind the PetWeMint technology is Non-fungible token more similar to the Commemorative Coins where each of the coins has its value in uniqueness.
There is no clear definition of what constitutes art. In a way it’s digital art. In old-style art there are experts who can recognise the originality of an artwork. In digital art that process is safe and secure without human interaction.
The value has 2 meanings. One is what the market dictates and one is what the owner gets out. Most things we spend money on lose lots of their value the minute we acquire them. NFT never will be “used”.
